Please note: All EFF Participants Must Be Registered Parishioners at MOQ. Elementary Faith Formation will be on Sunday Mornings only.
EFF Fees: 1-2 children: $100 per child; 3 or more children: $250.00 total

- A baptismal certificate is required for NEW EFF Registrations if not already on file with MOQ
- 2nd Grade (first Communion) – Please attach a copy of your Baptism Certificate if not already on file at MOQ and a Verification form of 1st Grade Catholic Religious Education if not completed at MOQ.

Early Faith Formation Classes Begin Sunday, September 15, and will be held on Sunday from 9:30-11 am.
Children will be assigned to one of the following curriculums based on their age and grade level. Sacramental Formation will be incorporated into the Good News and Venture Programs:
Seeds Program: PS-3 and PS-4
Promise Program: K-1st
Good News Program: 2nd and 3rd
Venture Program: 4th and 5th

Adult/Teen Faith Formation Volunteers Needed
Mary Our Queen faith formation programs would not be able to function without the continued support of our parents and parishioners. As part of a growing community, we need all the help and support we can obtain! You will be given all the tools you need to be a wonderful asset to the classroom. Please visit our Faith Formation Volunteer Section to read more about how you can help our program in this most important role.
For: Children in PS-3 to 5th grade
Pflaum Gospel Weeklies is a lectionary-based program flowing from the words of Jesus Christ in the Sunday Gospels. Children learn their faith through the seasons of the Liturgical year, and they are encouraged to participate in the life of the parish through the Gospel. The program also incorporates teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church in a format suitable for each age group. Children are able to discover the message of God through hands-on activities, group prayer, and more!
Age Groupings and Gospel Weeklies Program:
Seeds: PS-3 and PS-4
Promise: Kindergarten – 1st Grade
Good News: 2nd and 3rd Grade
Venture: 4th and 5th Grade

First Penance and First Eucharist
For: Baptized children in 1st and 2nd grade
Children preparing to receive the sacraments of First Penance and First Eucharist should be in the 2nd grade and have at least one prior year of faith formation per archdiocesan guidelines. Children should also be registered in faith formation for the current year, and parents must indicate upon registration their desire for sacramental preparation. We will be using Pflaum Gospel Weeklies “Together in Jesus” in order to prepare children to receive their Sacrament. This program will be incorporated into both the Good News and Venture programs in order to provide foundational and continued sacramental formation for children in the 2nd-5th grades.
Child and parent(s) must attend both the First Eucharist and First Penance retreat, as well as submit a copy of the child’s baptismal certificate before the reception of the sacraments. Dates for the retreats will be sent out with the faith formation calendar but may be subject to change. If your child does not meet archdiocesan guidelines, but you would like to discuss sacramental formation options, please contact the youth faith formation coordinator.

Adult and Teen Faith Formation Volunteers
Mary Our Queen faith formation programs would not be able to function without the continued support of our parents and parishioners. As part of a growing community, we need all the help and support we can obtain! EFF Catechists will be given a 30% discount off their child’s normal tuition cost. You will also be given all the tools you need to be a wonderful asset to the classroom.
Please consider volunteering your time and talents to one or more of these positions:
Catechist: Leads formation class with given teaching guidelines, maintains classroom management, and creates a welcoming environment for children to explore their faith.
Assistant Catechist: Supports catechist with child faith formation, helps maintain classroom management, and adds a valuable example of living the Catholic faith.
Attendance Keeper: Helps parents sign-in their children
Materials Assistant: Aids the youth faith formation coordinator in preparing materials for catechists
Vacation Bible School: Helps with one or more of the many tasks needed to run a successful VBS.
VIRTUS Training available at MOQ
VIRTUS TRAINING AVAILABLE AT MOQ: May 11th from 1 pm to 4 pm. All volunteers interested in working with children will need to attend this training. Our own Deacon Bill Boyd will present VIRTUS to our adult volunteers. If interested, please register to attend the session through the Archdiocese of Atlanta Safe Environment web site HERE
General Safe Environment Volunteer Guidelines
The Archdiocese of Atlanta requires that all adult volunteers (18 years old or older) working with children, youth, and/or vulnerable individuals must complete the Safe Environment training (VIRTUS) and undergo a background screening before they start volunteering.
As an adult volunteer, please provide your legal name and current email through the online form below and we will happily send you the information to complete per the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
In addition, volunteers must be familiar with the Reporting Child Abuse Guidelines. To view these guidelines, CLICK HERE.
Volunteers who are 13 years old or older should complete the Volunteer Application for Minors with their parent’s permission, and the School Reference for Minors form. Homeschooled minors must provide three references (non-family members).
