In
November of 1994, Mary Our Queen opened as a mission of All
Saints Catholic Church, Dunwoody, Georgia and was located at
5875 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Suite 260, Norcross
Georgia. Our first mass coincided with the beginning of the
liturgical year. The first year was very exciting!
The level of participation from all parishioners was outstanding.
An adult choir, contemporary choir, and children's choir started
almost immediately, along with lectors, alter servers,
eucharistic ministers, ushers and a nursery. In the
beginning we had 70 registered families and celebrated a 5:00 PM
vigil mass on Saturday and a 10:00 AM mass on Sunday.
Shortly thereafter another Sunday mass at 8:00 AM was
added. By the end of the first year a men's club and
women's guild was established, and we opened classes for our
school of religion program; other support organizations
and church ministries started to organize as well.

Through the efforts of the
finance and land acquisition committees, Mary Our Queen
purchased a 15 acre site at the intersection of The Corners
Parkway and Crooked Creek Road, Norcross, Georgia. This
would be the permanent location of Mary Our Queen Catholic
Church.
On October 20, 1997, the
Archdiocese of Atlanta approved our application to purchase a
6,000 square foot building (Trinity Building) on property
adjacent to our parish land and construct a 15,000 square foot
temporary church, administrative offices, and classroom facility
on the existing property. The Trinity Building was
completely refurbished and the new 15,000 square foot building
was completed for occupancy May 1998. In the main
building we celebrate mass (600 seats), have office space,
provide a nursery on Sunday, hold adult education bible studies,
conduct the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), have
a small parish hall, and music room. The Trinity Building
is totally dedicated to our school of religion program. We
currently have 900 registered families.
